This week is Maths Week all over Ireland. Our school are running loads of activities throughout the week where every child will be involved in something mathematical. Today 6th class kicked off with a competition, which has been sponsored by JW Tyres. The class had to theme the competition with maths and decide had to divide the €100 prize fund. It made for very interesting discussion and many derivatives were offered. The group settled on a colouring competition where children in 1st, 2nd and 3rd class will draw a picture with a maths theme. There will be 5 cash prizes of €30, €25, €20, €15 and €10 for the winners and all competitors will receive a colouring pack thanks to JW Tyres. The winners will be announced at assembly on Friday with judging starting on Wednesday morning.
